I, Tasha, don't really know how to do curly hair, seeing how mine is basically straight, so Hyrum did Kyler's hair yesterday. Now they look even more alike :)
(I think it is adorable! and asked Hyrum to teach me how to do it)

Dinner Time!
We love eating dinner together as a family and Kyler is starting to enjoy it more and more. :)
(no, we are not giving him solids yet, in case you were wondering)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Since Monday was a holiday, we decided that we wanted to do some exploring. I got put in charge of planning it. I thought a hike would be fun since the weather was supposed to be nice, so I found a hike near by. Come to find out, it was a stroll through a park in a near by city (see pictures above and below). We enjoyed it anyway. It was so nice to be outside.
Kyler is having a lot of fun exploring new things. We let him play a little in the car before we went to explore more of the city.
We found this really neat kids playground area. It was about to close and Kyler was sleepy so we basically just walked around the nearby stores, but it was a lot of fun. It was a great way to spend the holiday. We love doing things all together!

So Happy
Kyler LOVES to play with his Daddy. Hyrum can get some really big smiles out of Kyler as the two of them play together. They are hard to catch on camera because they come so fast and leave just as fast; but also, anytime Kyler notices the camera he gets straight faced and interested in the camera. But our hard work paid off and we obtained this photo :)
Sucking on Finger
So, it has began--Kyler is now sucking on his finger. It started with trying to suck on both fists at the same time and has progressed to this (see picture above)--sucking on one finger in the side of his mouth.
He actually more plays with his finger in his mouth then sits there and sucks on it. He prefers his pacifier to just suck on, but does like his finger and fists a lot.

Security Blanket
Kyler is just beginning to hold different things and his "blanket" is one of his favorites. It is really a burp cloth. He likes the bright colors and designs on it. On one occasion he played for quite a bit of time, giggling and cooing while he did it.

Reading
Kyler is just starting to enjoy having stories read to him. This ABC book is one of his favorites. He also enjoys just looking at the bright colors. It is really fun to read to him because sometimes, if you point to the pictures, he will look from page to page where you are pointing. I have found it to be a great activity when he is getting tired, but not ready for his nap.
Bottle Feeding
A couple times a day, Kyler gets a bottle to make sure that he is getting enough to eat. He loves to try and hold the bottle, but is not quite strong enough for Daddy to let go completely. Sometimes feeding him a bottle is a challenge and very funny because he is hungry and wants to eat, but also wants to look around. Therefore, he thinks the bottle should follow him wherever he looks. It's really funny to watch as he turns his head causing formula to leak out the side of his mouth and get everywhere.
Happy Baby
Kyler loves to smile, smile, smile. In fact, he has developed a dimple on the other cheek; so now he has one on both cheeks. He also is getting better about sitting up without pillows to the side (this is only true when he is on the couch like in the picture). He loves to sit up because he can see so much more.

Fingerspelling!
Look closely at Kyler's hand--he is signing the letter "t".
We have always said that Kyler was a smart boy, but who would have guessed he was this smart! He has been trying to communicate with sign language :) He has signed the letters "e,a,t" and "s". Why didn't I get this sooner?Carpet!
We finally get our piece of carpet laid down in the front room and we love having it! Not only is it a great place for Kyler to play, but it makes it much more comfortable to sit on the floor.
