We really enjoyed watching General Conference this year. Kyler even paid attention enough to pick out words and phrases here and there :)
During the last session of General Conference, Tasha was feeling a little cold (no surprise, Tasha is always cold it seems), so she put a blanket over herself. Kyler, on seeing his mother using a blanket, decided that he also wanted one. So he went and grabbed a blanket from his bedroom, then returned to the couch and sat by Mommy. He then said, "I want a blanket, like Mommy" and proceeded to put the blanket over himself. Then he started patting his tummy (Tasha is 33 weeks pregnant) and said, "I have a baby." :)
So cute! He is going to be a great big brother.

Ping Pong
Playing ping pong with Uncle Seth is super fun. Kyler was entertained for a long time.
One time after hitting the ping pong ball, Kyler exclaimed, "I hit homerun!"
Favorite Uncle
Hyrum's brothers are each trying to train Kyler to say their name when they ask, "Who is your favorite uncle?" Kyler is too smart for them. When asked the question, he responded, "Uncle Daddy."

Funny Things Kyler has Said
*Kyler and I were outside playing when Kyler found a piece of a balloon. He said, "Eat it" like he often does when he is pretending to eat something, but then he acted like he was actually going to stick it in his mouth. Not wanting him to do this, I replied, "We don't eat that. We only eat food." Kyler responded, "Only eat food, sometimes."
*Hyrum and I had been planning to go to the temple, but hadn't found a babysitter yet. It was my responsibility to find one, so I grabbed the phone, trying to decide who to call. Kyler was watching me, so I asked, "Who should I call to babysit you?" He replied, "President Monson."
(BTW-we don't know President Monson on a personal basis at all)

The Olympics
Hyrum and I really enjoy watching the Olympics, so we have been looking forward to them this year. Kyler, who is new to the Olympics, thinks it is the coolest thing ever! He LOVES sports, especially if it involve a ball. He gets so excited every time we turn on the TV to watch. I think the cutest part about it is that when he is playing, he now incorporates the Olympic events into his play.
He will run around the room saying he is a runner, going fast.
He will hit a ball with his arms like a volleyball player.
He will stand on a lid (or something else that is near by), call it his diving board, and "jump into the water".
He will lay down on his belly and move his arms and legs while saying, "I swimming".
Kyler will also narrate what he is watching on TV, to the best of his ability. The other day, Hyrum and I were making applesause and had the Olympics on. Kyler was sitting on the couch watching. Volleyball was playing, and Kyler was sitting there saying, "The ball go HIGH!", "They fell down!", "Hit it!", etc.

Tasha's most recent project
I have wanted a rocking chair for a while, so Hyrum found one for me. We didn't like the cushions, so I decided to be adventuresome and try to make my own. Here is the finished product. I think they turned out nice.
Shoes!
Kyler loves balls and shoes right now. He often asks, "where da shoe go?" He also likes to carry them around the house and just the other day he started to try to walking in my shoes.
Helping Himself to a Snack
While Mommy was on the phone with a business one day, Kyler decided to have a snack. He knows where the snack cupboard is, so he went over, opened it, and picked out a snack--graham crackers. Mommy found him a few minutes later sitting in a pile of crumbs, but as happy as could be. He had dumped the open package (which was mostly crumbs) onto the floor and was eating a graham cracker. Luckily graham cracker crumbs are easy to clean up.
Our friendly visitor
There are lots of squirrels around here. This squirrel is playing on our patio. Kyler loves to look for them. We also have wild turkeys that wonder around. Kyler will ask, "Where da tur go?" (Where did the turkeys go?). Kyler know what sounds many animals make. Some of them are cat, sheep, duck, alligator, owl, horse, lizard, cow, turkey, bird, snake, and monkey.

We love Three Day Weekends!
We really enjoyed this last three day weekend. We spent part of it at home, and the other part with some of Hyrum's family. It was so nice to relax.
Kyler loves to pretend to talk on the phone. Here he is using a water bottle as his phone.
Happy kiddo
Isn't he cute?!
Christmas Decorations
We got another camera! Just in time to take pictures of our Christmas decorations and then take them down. You can see our Christmas tree in the picture below, right by Hyrum's elbow.

Christmas
We had a wonderful holiday season. Right before it began our camera broke so sadly we don't have many pictures. But we did get a new camera for Christmas! That was pretty exciting! We had so much fun visiting family and showing Kyler off. There are some benefits with being a student. Our vacation could be several weeks long while school was out, so that was pretty fun. Hyrum worked at the beginning of the break, but then we were just able to play.
Some highlights of the trip were seeing family, feeding a lama, reading and watching movies, riding a "sleigh" to see about 100 elk (there was no snow, so it had tires), relaxing, and seeing family. Another really big highlight was singing Christmas songs at an assistant living home, particularly the Alzheimer's ward.
Through it all, Kyler was the cute, happy boy that he generally is. He loved exploring each new placed we visited. He even found a way so sneak past everyone and play with the toilet paper.
